“Chel is only one person and there are a lot of us. I’ve noticed that when someone keeps a large pet, like… your size or my own, they only have one or two.” Energy mumbled, drawing on his memories from the dog he had bonded with. “Stealth, I don’t want to continue fighting… if something [...]

“Some of us apparently do follow instincts.” Stealth ground her fangs. “I am just as conflicted as you are, Stealth.” Energy shook his thick mane of fur. “On that note, I’m going to go take a nap. And I think I’m going to change my name. I’m going to ask Chel to give me a [...]
“Drift can’t fly, Swiftpaw’s afraid of his own shadow.” Energy pointed out. “Do you wish them to die of starvation? What about Dash, could you see his lazy tail hunting? Do you remember the rogue we ran into … ” Stealth’s memories went back immediately to a strong, terrifying memory. It wasn’t one of Lexx’s [...]
Energy tried to get out of the way, but he just wasn’t fast enough. Stealth’s powerful jaws clamped around his right foreleg and her fangs sunk deeply through flesh and fur. Energy howled in pain and tried to pull himself free.
When that didn’t work, he turned on Stealth and slashed at her with his free paw. The large cat let go before she could be struck, but only long enough to find another vulnerable area on Energy. She raked razor sharp claws over his haunches. Energy twisted around to bite her on the shoulder, then [...]
Lexx didn’t say anything more. He just glared at the dice. Slowly Stealth shifted her gaze disdainfully to Energy, then she whipped around and snorted, quickly leaving to the sleeping quarters. Energy took the hint immediately and with a grunt went in a different direction to go and nurse his wounds in the biosphere.
“I would’ve hit them…” Lexx reflected, watching them leave, his anger slowly ebbing away. He had restrained himself at the sudden image of Chel scolding him for kicking Zeta so long ago. Most of the time, he wouldn’t hit the dice, but there were a few times when he just couldn’t stop himself. Lexx took [...]
Lexx considered. He could ‘ask’ her over the relay if she’d like to talk to him right now. He sensed that he could reach her even from far above the earth. Lexx hesitated. He didn’t want to intrude. It was important to Chel that he not intrude and he knew this. But, a short chat [...]
I’m opening up an old incentive, due to financial need (Car maintenance, replaced the brake pads, which wasn’t too bad, then was told we need to replace the timing belt… and should’ve been replacing it for the second time by now.) Basically, that destroys our food budget for November and December. Very bad timing… right [...]
“Chel had a life before you, a safer-” The voice went on, but not for long. “Ahem.” Lexx’s mind filled with a static sensation, his thoughts interrupted with a sudden silence. A conversation was beginning in the deeper recesses of his consciousness. “… what …” Lexx’s mirror image consciousness growled into the darkness. Something else [...]
