Lexx leaned forward as the huge dice’s head slowed in an overly controlled manner behind him. He felt a rush of air as her jaws snapped shut, dozens of teeth sliding against each other perfectly in place. Before Lexx had time to realize what was going on, Skate’s tail whipped around his right leg and jerked him upright. Pain shot through Lexx’s knee as it was twisted and pulled. Smaller jabbing sensations rippled through his thigh. The injury there had almost healed and now the new muscle connections were being strained.
