Meanwhile in Damian’s on board ‘garden’, Lexx’s dice were having a silent evening relaxing under low trees near the perimeter of the garden that faced out into space. Massive panels opened up into the limitless expanse of space and each of them, no matter their actual size, was feeling very small.
“We’re going to be next … when Lexx is done with Riley’s dice.” Sirius was the first to break the silence.
“I don’t want to fight Lexx.” Serenity’s gentle voice quavered and she leaned closer to Sirius.
“You won’t, Serenity.” Sirius nuzzled her head affectionately. “You would not give him the right kind of challenge. It’s going to be the rest of us.”
Serenity’s ears twitched further back against her head and she shivered at Sirius’ words. She might not be involved, but those around her likely would.
