“I have not left Litta since. None of us have. We know better now. This is our home.” Lessa stared at nothing.” Lessa continued. “Kade threw a lavish wedding for Rumen and I.” It had been a beautiful wedding with friends and family in attendance. She had not wanted to accept it, but had given up to Kade after his relentless persistence wore her down. He would not take no for an answer.

  1. Wait, I thought Lessa and Kade had a thing. It was Lessa and Rumen? Confusing.

    1. Lessa and Kade had a close (possibly flirtatious) friendship, but she was actually dating Rumen.

    2. Kade and Lessa did, yeah, but like she said, they never acted on it.

    3. Lessa and Kade had a crush on each other, but knew nothing could come of it, so she married Rumen, the male of her own kind, instead.

      1. @Kukki: I agree.

The text, plus the previous comic makes it read like Kade broke down her defenses, and so she accepted…some other guy. Wait, what?

I think its supposed to be read that he footed the bill for the fancy wedding, even though she’d refused a couple of times –

Though it still begs the question why she decided to marry Rumen, and why mention she had a thing for Kade, when we immediately turn around and have her marry someone else.

  2. So Lavish wedding planning must run in the family. I wonder how far Riley has got with Lexx and Chel’s…

    1. I would think the planning is already done.

      1. Agreed. And it likely dwarfs Lessa and Rumen’s xD

  3. this is the third time i have had nothing to say but ??????????????????????????????????????????????? today.

  4. @Kukki: Kade was the powerful human Rumen went to for help with Lessa’s jailbreak.
Nice to hear that Lessa found a worthy male after all of her problems.

  5. Redlion, I know who Kade is (he’s Littan and Riley’s father, not a human).

I just was confused by Lessa’s relationships.

  6. Its a standard trope that if a woman’s husband/boyfriend dies she’ll get with her SO’s brother. In real life I don’t think this happens too often, but in the movies….

anyways, kade already had kids and an established life, it would have been awkward for them to date, especially when he was friends with her former husband. But then she ends up with Rumen (so now lex’s uncle is his step-father?) because he was there for her, etc.

    1. It happens in real life and was far more common in times when people didn’t travel as much. 😉 Many cultures practice this and have for ages and it has it’s place when you want to keep your particular culture alive and have a very tiny pool of SO’s you can choose from in the first place. 😉 Most of this is just family line stuff, good family continuation – but now I can REALLY blow people’s minds – there’s a culture here where all the brothers are married to ONE wife at the same time and they share her to avoid splitting up their family lands. 😀 (The wife in this one had plenty of power too, she wasn’t just passed around.)

  7. Isn’t it a case of Littans and Rishans shouldn’t get together because of the unintentional enslavement/ enthrallment(?) of the Rishan when they kiss or anything else intimate?
