“You’re right, of course,…” Lexx tipped his cup up, pretending that her response didn’t bother him at all. “Ten days is a short time.” Hadn’t he been telling himself that the entire time? It was too early. Why did he let those questions go the way they did. Why had he even suggested the game in the first place? ‘Soul mates.’ The word echoed through Lexx’s relay, and he immediately retreated into his thoughts, thankful for the distraction. Of course, it was to be expected. HE always showed up at times like this. “Riley! Stop listening to my private conversations!” Lexx angrily went after the nosey littan, who merely stood and grinned at him. “If I wanted you listening, I’d invite you! I don’t need you hanging out in my head giving me advice!” “A soul mate is that person you connect with unlike any other.” Riley ignored Lexx’s angry display, going into an elementary explanation of the word. “Time means nothing. Distance, appearance,… it hits you and won’t leave you alone.” “Riley,…” Lexx growled, really wishing that he would leave him alone when he was feeling like this. How much had he spied on? All of Lexx’s emotions and thoughts had been on the top level. How stupid of him to think that Riley couldn’t be near enough to know everything. “Go away!!”
