The underground passageway that had seemed to warm and friendly when Chel had walked through them earlier, now felt dark and dreary. The corridor seemed to be closing in all around her. Lexx is going to come back here. He’s going to leave. Chel didn’t feel like talking on the way back and avoided meeting any rishan’s eyes as they walked back through the little community. The otterbudgies joined them and bounced around behind, chattering and playing as they walked. Their joyous noises were grating in Chel’s mind as her own thoughts swirled and jumbled together down the many paths she could take. She could run. But there was nowhere to go. She could hide, but would likely be found. She could resist. She could resist.

  1. oh boo hoo.

  2. It doesn’t occur to her she could move there with him?

    1. If she were to leave earth with Lexx, she’d have to give up all of her family, friends and everything in her life to be with him. Pretty heavy thing to ask a girl, even if she’s in love with the guy. Don’t get me wrong, I really hope they find a way to be together when it’s all over. Maybe move all of Lexx’s family to earth or something…

      1. Or leave earth. Her whole family (except that brother of hers…) are frikking stupid, arrogant, clueless….clueless…DUCIlhnmffgvfhuTJCf!!!!!!!!

      2. Naha, forget earth…
        It’s BORING!
Seriously bough, it woul be so much cooler if they were all just out exploring the universe! Things would stay interesting. I wouldn’t consider it a happy ending for them all to end up on earth….alone and unable to live I. Human society. For the rest of their lives to be one big camp out I. Lexxs island doesn’t sound like a very nice ending to me.

  3. It probably does, but it also occurs to that that would require her to leave all her family and everyone else she loves behind. but then again, she could probably easily visit them, unless the people who run this have anything to say.

  4. Lexx has a spaceship. They can visit her parents. It would be less of a burden on her than on the women who accompanied their men to the New World in the 1600’s. How much does she really love him is the question.

    1. In the 1600s a woman belonged to her husband and never saw her own family again ANYWAY. O.o

      1. Not really, and bear in mind that in some countries women could, and did, inherit property. In any case, the norm was that you never traveled further than 20 miles from your birthplace. Your family was a permanent part of your life, you just lived in the next cottage over! To this day, it is the norm in many parts of Europe to end up living within 50 miles of your hometown.

  5. Love him or not, it’s a heavy thing to think about. And with the ADC looming over them, they might not be as free to travel as they’d like.
