Lexx glared at the projection, looking for any imperfections that would point to a fraud. The problem was, it was legitimate. Galactic Registry records could not be altered. He’d seen his several times, with a lot of information restricted. Now, he was reading this Rishan’s and realizing with a growing terror that,… it wasn’t fake.
The Registry kept a record of everyone who was born and died, along with DNA tracers. It was a complete history for her. She’d been originally registered under the name Daesha Nina, her adopted name, but now that record had been replaced with a new one, with the name Shira Alyssa Kane. That record had been destroyed, but the name was still in the registry, having been recently connected to Daesha Nina by DNA.
Positive identification, sister of ADC employee, Shira Cade Lexx. This was added information, not actually a part of the record. It was tacked on with a notice from the ADC. A flag. Anyone running into her and running her tiles would know who she was,.. and the fact that there was a ten thousand crid reward for information that led to her employment. The ADC wanted her for some reason and the reward was decent enough for bounty hunters to take notice. Lexx understood now, but that was at the back of his mind.
“I,.. have a sister?” He whispered incredulously. He didn’t know her. She was just another Rishan, except for one thing, she had the same parents he did and that was enough.
