Eight hours had passed. For Lexx, it might as well have been an eternity. Most of that time had been spent battling dice. A few of Riley’s toughest dice, then his own, then more of Riley’s. None of Damian’s dice had been obedient enough to do as they were commanded. Blood had been spilled, his and each of the dice he had gone against. Splatters of red, blue and green were drying on the once pristine floor. Lexx had changed his clothes half a dozen times and had pushed himself up two more levels. He was fighting against himself now. His focus was wavering with a growing weariness. And now, he was fighting against one of his largest dice, Skate. She towered over him, a mass of muscle and bulk that could move far faster than one would think. This battle was different. Lexx had ordered her to spar and not seriously attempt to injure him.
