"Lexx!" Energy couldn't contain himself. He had to intervene before it was too late. The dragon dice leapt from the darkness on the other side of the clearing. "No, she's going to-" Epsy jumped off the rocks, her attention going from Lexx's standing form to Energy's actively moving one. He was too close. Energy realized his proximity error and curved his body, jerking reflexively away from Epsy. His mind protested. If he ran away, she might follow him. She might also turn to attack Lexx once she was close enough. Lexx would not run. Energy knew it. Energy stood there. Epsy roared one last time in warning, then charged. She expected Energy to run, but he didn't. He just stood there, his mind caught in realization that it would be best if he met the battle head on, whether he wanted to or not.
