"I have told Trasik to leave him alone, Riley." His father spoke softer. His voice was tinged with an unusual fatigue. "I have told you all to stay out of this and not one of you has listened. If your mother knew about -" He trailed off, leaving Riley to imagine the anger and scolding he might endure if she did find out.
"Stop meddling, Riley." His father's voice reverberated with parental threat, then the screen went blank, leaving Riley alone with his thoughts.
