Epsy bounced around Lexx and Chel, waiting for something to happen. “Epsy, get rid of Mischief before she gets underfoot. She’s too much of a pest and will try to sabotage our capture!” “What could she do?” Chel laughed, unconvinced that the creature could really do a lot. “She’s not that big,…” Then she recalled Dig and all he could do, although he was an entirely different matter. “You’d be surprised.” Lexx grumbled. “Okay!” Epsy bobbed her head eagerly, “I go chase and play! It’ll be fun!” “Leeeexx!” Stealth hissed from the foot of the tree she’d found the dice they were hunting in. “Toss the dice!! I see our target!!” Lexx gripped the modifier dice in his fist and glared at Mischief, who was watching them from the grassy ground nearest the stream. She quirked her head to one side and twitched her tail, as though waiting. “Go away, Mischief.” Lexx snapped, swinging his hand forward and letting the dice fly through the air in Stealth’s direction. A trio of dice flew through the air, just the ones that would be best for Stealth. The otter’s eyes followed the glowing modifiers. Her mouth dropped open and she squeaked, “Nurrrr!?” And then, in a gait that was much faster than it looked, she dashed up onto the grass where the modifiers had landed and snagged the closest one in her teeth. She paused just long enough to look up at Lexx, as though making sure he had seen her. Then she spun around and bounced back toward the stream.
