Chel stared at the water, attempting to fathom exactly what it meant. Water is life. Light is life. What had changed? Lexx dipped his hands into the pool and quickly hopped back across the rocks. "Where are your parents, Lexx?" Chel shouted after him. The younger Lexx vanished into the rapidly thickening fog. "They are gone. There is no-one." Lexx's voice could be heard again, echoing like a breeze around her. "They were the only ones who wanted me and they were taken from me." Chel walked. The voice followed her. They abandoned me. Why did they put themselves in danger? Why did they risk their lives?" Chel could feel Lexx's emotions. Anger, resentment and confusion hung thickly in the air. She wanted to reply to the questions, but bit back her answers. Responding to Lexx without really thinking about it wasn't a good idea. She had misjudged him before. She had to know more. "Nobody wants me." Chel heard a more prominent voice. Lexx. Older than the Lexx she had just seen, but still much younger than the Lexx she knew. He stood with his back to her, hands clenched tightly at his sides. Chel turned to walk toward him, noticing he was wearing a uniform of some sort and his hair was cropped short. "Nobody wants me." He repeated mournfully.
