Chel was here,… they weren't. Color flooded suddenly into view, rolling violently over the cold landscape. Lexx was smiling. It was sudden. A memory that was familiar to Chel. They were standing together, watching themselves back at Esael. "I… did not want you here." Chel was perplexed. She stared at the younger Lexx standing by her and then on to the one she knew. He was standing in the shadows of the room. He had done this before and it was a little creepy. She really needed to talk to him about not doing that. "She's beautiful." Chel could hear his thoughts. Quietly, Lexx stepped out of the shadows by the door and walked past the dim golden lights that kept the room from being entirely dark. He stopped by the bedside and stood there. It was like watching a stone gargoyle come to life. "I am undeserving." Chel glanced furtively at the Lexx that was with her, wondering what his reaction would be. Her own thoughts were growing increasingly worried. "Lexx has serious problems." She had realized that long ago, but these memories were adding volumes to her observations. "I can't help him. I don't know how. I'm afraid I might be making things worse." Chel wished she had someone to talk to about Lexx. Someone like her parents, but that would just be awkward.
