She blinked and was abruptly transferred into her own dream once again. Instead of watching, she was now involved and staring into Lexx's golden eyes. The atmosphere had changed yet again. It felt like a peaceful winter's day. A day when it snowed and yet did not feel cold enough for snow. Points of light floated all around them and Chel realized their feet were not on the ground. "I still have hope. It's what always kept me going." Lexx spoke to her. "Deep down,… I know it's there. Maybe it's a lie, but it's all I have." He was speaking seriously. "If I could dream the impossible and offer you a world I could never provide; a life I'll never see. For all my rich tastes,.. I'm just a slave adorned in a sham of finery. I have nothing. I will be given nothing and all there will be - is me." It was strange. The words were pure and honest. The tone was enough to make Chel feel warm and careless. What did it matter that he didn't have anything? She wasn't a material girl. He could start over on Earth. There had to be something - something he could do here. He could live here. Nobody would - no, they would. Caution spoke up quickly. There were many horrible things that could happen to Lexx that neither she nor him would be able to do anything about. Just being who he was, what he was, put him in danger. She didn't want to see him hurt. And in that thought, Chel realized something. Lexx kept others out to avoid hurting himself. She wanted to keep him out to keep him from being hurt. One of them had to bend and right now, Lexx was completely open to her. She wasn't with the others, because she was being allowed to see everything. They were still kept out of here. It would be so easy. Chel's emotions rose above her logic momentarily. It would be so easy. Just don't think about it.
