“Riley,…” Chel was pleading now. She did not want to see Lexx get hurt again. “Please, don’t hurt Lexx.” It did make Riley feel bad as he looked at her. She was on the verge of breaking into tears, despite her efforts not to let her emotions take over. Riley decided he had probably taken this a little too far and released his grip on Lexx.
“Meet me in the arena.” Riley slid the short sword into a sheath at his side and pulled out a scroll of paper. He held it out to Lexx, “Don’t forget your paperwork.”
“Huh?” Lexx stared at Riley. What was this? “Paper-?”
Riley responded over the relay. “Go to the control office. You’ll understand when you read the papers. I will be in the arena.”
