The cat leapt up on top of the fence. She moved as a liquid silhouette, covering more ground where she could see best where she was going. Everything was disoriented and her thoughts were moving far too quickly. The only thing she knew was that she was being hunted and there was a safe place to go.

The cat bolted along the low fence and dropped to the ground where it ended. Just one more yard over and she’d be safe, just around the garbage cans.

“This way, Zeta.” Lexx looked back crossly at the creature, who was really trying his best to keep up.
