Kade walked past Chel and Victor with a purposeful stride. “If you see Claudia, inform her she needs to talk to me, because I will find her.” There was unmistakable hint of a threat in Kade’s words and Victor nodded appreciatively. “Kade’s more of what I had in mind for a first encounter.” Victor stated once Kade’s footsteps had faded down the hallway. “Dad. Please stop that. It’s embarrassing. They’re just like any other people.” Chel grabbed her father’s arm tightly, drawing his attention back to her. “I know. Disappointing.” Victor made a face at his daughter, then smiled.

  1. Hah, love grumpy dad. I think a bit of him was harboring that Star Trek fantasy of benevolent, advanced aliens there to guide humanity. Too bad!

    1. I think he really meant “Adult”, as opposed to “assortment of rich college students on vacation”.

    2. I wish I could fave comments. 😀 😀

    3. “Reality Ensues”. Also, so does “Disillusionment” and “Disappointment”.

    4. I like the face too.

Though looking at it, I’m having fun of all the different things that could fit the text bubble that could match up with the face.

I think it’s one of Vic’s best faces yet. ^^

  2. Actually Vic is probably primed to either really step up in his organization or primed to end up in a small white room somewhere never to be seen again.

  3. Insights like that are why I like Vic.

  4. Well, thay were hoping to meet a enlightened race. Instead they find races about as mature as humans are, just with more hight tech toys.

  5. Disillusioning reality has just come crashing down around Vic’s head. I love Vic’s disappointed expression here.

Humanity, meet the aliens! Oh, wait. that’s a mirror. No, wait, it’s not a mirror. Oh boy.

  6. Awww. I think I can sympathize with Vic here.

  7. I’d say he was expecting either intelligent/advanced/benevolent/peaceful or aggressive/cruel/trigger-happy/hostile. Instead he found complicated/angsty/petty/clueless/human-like. Personally, I think he would’ve liked the two he was expecting more than the ones he found. At least that way they could be reasoned with or shot.

    1. I think it’d be even better if they were just people like us, but unfortunately, they’re more or less “us but 200 years less socially advanced” with an fondness for bloodsport between enslaved sentients, racist justification for said slavery (of the uplifted dice), and an acceptance of bloodshed over grudges (at least the Littans).

      1. Also take into account, we’re only seeing most of the alien races with an appearance closest to humans.

From what information the story has already told us, aliens like us are the minority in the great big universe and some cultures are worst then the ones already shown, if what information is available is any good indicator.

  8. lol, I like his disapproving face, I find it amusing.

(I believe that is saying the same thing twice, but oh well, it’s my comment, I’ll make it how I want :P)

  9. Ooo, Burrrn

  10. DarknessShallFall

Vic, they could be holding you down and probing you in inappropriate places right now. Stop complaining lol.
