Then, the filed report that Vic was waiting on arrived. He waited patiently for the files to print. He had waited several hours already for the pictures to be processed, cleaned up and blown up to show the important details. The colors were slightly off, having been treated to remove as many shadows as possible. Vic printed the report out and began reading through the pages while the larger image files printed. Several minutes later, Vic finished skimming the pages and then picked up the photographs. They were all nicely printed on 5 X 7 photographic paper off a thousand dollar printer. Vic grunted thumbing through the smaller blurry images. The hundred dollar inkjet at home could print better than this. Leave it to the government to spend more than was necessary on equipment. Half a dozen pictures and then Vic did a double take on the pictures. He flipped through the remainder, then studied the first that had caught his eye. There was no mistaking what was in the picture. It was a girl, more of a young woman with almost carrot orange hair. The blue-green of her eyes stared out in surprise at Vic. It was HIS daughter. Chel. And she was with the alien he was looking for. Vic ground his teeth together slowly. ". . . Chel … ?" He said softly to himself. How did this happen? What was she doing with him?
