Fly froze in shock. He had seen Swiftpaw crawl all over Drift without sinking into his fur and he had to be much heavier than a squirrel! In a panic, Fly started scrambling through Drift’s thick coat of fur, trying to get his head out so he could see. Drift twitched. There was that annoying tickling sensation again. Then, Fly ran right into the original inhabitant of Drift’s fur coat, the scary little citrus thief. She chirped and in a fright, dug her claws into Drift’s flesh. Drift’s eyes popped open. He pushed himself up, a shiver rippling up his back all the way over his shoulders, up his neck and head. His fur stuck up in all directions for a moment. Fly and the creature both slid, grabbing for whatever they could to stop their sliding into the unknown. The creature’s claws dug into Drift’s side, pulling out fur as it went. Fly managed to get one paw caught on the creature’s tail and hung on. Drift was now up on all fours, walking in a circle as he debated what he should do to get rid of the annoying tickling now turned into itching. He stopped … and proceeded to lift his left hind leg and scratch at the spot viciously. Dice or not, sometimes the most basic of actions had the best result.

  1. I think the word you are looking for is “vigorously.” Loving the comic BTW, and re-reading it even though I haven’t caught up yet!

  2. viciously works there. Heck when I get an itch I can seem downright cruel to it.
