Kalvin was too late.
"You're home early!" Andrea literally bounced in front of her father, eager to see if he had brought anything with him. "We thought you wouldn't get back until this evening!"
"I caught an earlier flight-" Vic responded, doing his best to act normal. He casually removed his coat and hung it on the coat rack near the door. Kalvin and Andrea were here. Where was Chel?
"I thought I'd surprise you - where's Chel? I thought we'd all go out for lunch and a movie."
Kalvin glanced at his sister. She was grinning like an idiot and he knew at any moment one of them had to give an answer and he wasn't quite sure what kind of an answer to give.
