“I’m already horribly normal and average by Rishan standards.” Lexx couldn’t help but keep smiling as he tried to downplay how abnormal he really was. “I’ve been given a few tricks, but they’re useless.” “Are you going to stay on Earth?” Chel was trying to carry on her own, more serious, conversation with Lexx. “It’s always been my plan, but I may be a slightly different plan now.” Lexx nodded slowly. “Will you work with my father?” “Anything you want, Chel, I will do.” Chel gave Lexx a long look. He was not acting like the Lexx she was accustomed to and it was bothering her. Chel didn’t have any doubts that it was Lexx that she was speaking to, but this overly accommodating attitude made her worried that he was saying things just to make her happy and that was not something they needed right now. “And if you don’t want to?” Chel dug a little further.

  1. If he is “normal and average” then why does the ADC want him, and his genetics, so bad?
    oy

    1. People judge “normal” by their personal expierence, and with Lexx’s various problems, I would be surprised if he considered himself to be brilliant or special in any way. So, from Lexx’s point of view that was a completely true statement.

  2. Her hair… IS LIKE MOLTEN LAVA AWESOMNESS

Liking the way you handle the sideways eye, (by basically not drawing the pupil?)

  3. Also, Chel is far too rational a person to go Cocoa for Cocoapuffs over Lexx. Chel isn’t a Marysue, she’s not perfect. Her big character flaw is probably the fact that she handles everything like she’s looking at it afar with a textbook on psychology for police officers.

Lexx may have trouble admitting his feelings because he always feels like crap (though with the bad code gone it might be like we put him on Xanax) but Chel is going to have trouble admitting her feelings because she overthinks them!

  4. Oops that last was supposed to be in response to the previous comic…

  5. I get the feeling that he’s giving her a very strong hint that he intends to court her…

  6. This new Lexx is way too submissive and creepy.

    1. I’ll say. Who wants a boyfriend with no mind/will of his own, who “will do anything you want”?
      YEACH!

  7. I’m glad to see a return of the beautiful hair effects that your art sometimes displays Syke.

The combination of shine following angular profiles, and the color lines showing both the change in color on different parts of the head, as well as visually representing the direction of the flow of the hair is beautiful, distinctive, and lends an additional feeling of realism. It’s one of my favorite parts of your art style.

As far as the characters go, yeeesh, Lexx is really showing how he’s been beaten down over the years. He has several particularly potent abilities, but he is unable to show value in himself, and confidence. x.x

Too bad that if Lexx winds up living in America, any attempt to grow out of that unhealthy phase is likely to be beaten out of him by feminists.

    1. Sigh. You need to look up “radical feminists.” A feminist is just a woman who knows her rights. A radical feminist is a lot different.

  8. Seriously, Chel need to calm down and enjoy the moment for once. She is so upset with him for risking his life that they can’t enjoy this time together. Just give the fella a hug fer cryin’ out loud!

  9. I’m really hoping this whole ‘happy everything worked out’ thing wears off. I’m half expecting him to doze off again in the middle of the link.

  10. –Josh, that was uncalled for. A feminist is just a woman who likes her ability to vote.
