Meanwhile, Kane casually strolled along a grassy hillside not far from the beach, but out of site of the cliffbased house. She had slipped into something much more fitting for travel. Damian had special ordered it for her to wear to a party. Too bad about that party, Kane felt she had a going away celebration to attend and she was the only one invited. No one had seen her slip out of the house. They were busy on the other side of the rocks. Damian had been fawning over the new girl like she was some new toy. That was fine with Kane. She was done with him. A shadow passed overhead, obscuring the sun. Kane raised her eyes to see a vision descending from the heavens. It was beautiful. A real Dragonwire ship. Light danced along the golden hull and slid down the elegantly curving wings. It was a luxury ship, meant for those who had places to go and wanted to go their fast or slow and in comfort. The air tugged at Kane's dress as the ship came to rest gracefully in the grassy clearing.
