". . . I have always wanted one of these!" Kane gasped to herself. She strode purposefully up to the ship as a hatch opened up beneath it and a golden walking ramp extended out into the grass. In mere moments, she would be leaving this wretched little backworld. She would be returning to a life among the stars, visiting space stations and living the good life at the expense of others. And it was all thanks to her brother.
Kane hesitated at the foot of the ramp. "Thank you, Lexx." She grinned sardonically. Then she purposefully walked up the ramp without a look back at the lush world she was leaving behind.
