"They know where the island is, Riley."  Chel pointed out.  "They could come if they want to."
"I suppose that it would have happened eventually.  Do you mind telling your father before he shows up that no weapons are allowed?"  Riley grumbled.  "He already shot me once."  It had really hurt to.  It hadn't slowed him down much and the wound had already been healed by his medics, but he didn't relish repeating the experience.
"He shot you?!"  Chel almost dropped the pastry she was eating.  Riley had not set a word before now about this.  Of course, he HAD met her father and from her father's reaction to his name, it had not been a good encounter.  She scolded herself for not pressing for details about why her father had been angry.  It didn't really make sense.
Riley was a bit annoying … and he said the wrong things.  Maybe it did make sense after all.  In any case, she hoped Riley wasn't going to hold a grudge against her father or do anything to him.

This was something new I tried, which did fall flat. It was just a learning experience for later and realizing that .. d'uh... you should have done three different plate orientations at least. I just wanted something detailed and yummy looking next to the less appetizing mix. ;) The image to the left is the actual orientation of the food on the table, at least the pretty part of it. These were painted entirely in photoshop and I'm pleased with the coloration and such of the pastries themselves.

  1. Her look of surprise makes her somewhat of a hypocrit. She did shoot Lexx back when they first met after all.

    1. But then, Lexx was in her yard and stealing- er, trying to steal her cat.

      1. not her cat! the cat was being kidnapped and her personnel prevented that.

        1. Good point xD Chel is hers, not the other way around XD

        2. Only now Sirius is trying to get in on that.

  2. Yes, Chel. Riley got shot. Three times. Be wary of your father and the people he works for.
