"No idea, but I doubt he's going to get too close to her until he has to." Riley stated. "He's either going to get me or Damian to do something about the eggs."
"You have to destroy them?" Chel ventured.
"Yes." Riley shrugged. "They are going to cause a delay in the game and Epsy can not be distracted by caring for them."
"Could I take them?" Chel asked without thinking. It just seemed so cruel. The game demanded too much of the participants, humans, aliens and animals alike. It didn't seem fair that the eggs had to be destroyed.
