“Don’t be ridiculous.” Chel laughed, feeling free to hug her father. If he said he wasn’t armed and that he didn’t do it, then he didn’t. Yes, he had kept things from her, but truthfully, she never asked. This time, she made a point of asking. “I believe you, Dad.” Vic dropped his energy drink, happy to see his daughter behaving normally. It gave him some hope that she wasn’t being manipulated by these aliens. ‘Hopefully this mission won’t be too close to home for Victor.’ Primrose and Mel walked in from the living room. A tinge of concern crept into Primrose’s thoughts. Normally, family working together was approved for most situations. In this one, she had her doubts. No matter how professional Victor was, this was his daughter. “Hey, Keith.” Chel turned to greet Keith, looking a little embarrassed and feeling awkward. “Sorry about –“ “Don’t worry about it.” Keith said. He was already on his feet, a huge grin plastered on his face and his green bag hanging off his shoulder. “You had more important things going on. So let’s go!” He was eager to get to see the aliens. “Hold on a moment,” Chel stated seriously. “There are a few things you do need to know before we leave. I was really tired last night because there was a lot going on. I needed the sleep so I could tell you everything. These are my friends. I don’t want to make any mistakes or have them misunderstood.”
