Chel stared a moment.
"Come on, let's go swim!"
" … okay …" Chel felt her body move before her mind comprehended an actual answer. Gone were her thoughts about impending doom. This was just the distraction she needed. A friendly face. A very handsome friendly face who she knew. Someone who didn't have any galaxy sized problems.
"Keith and I go way back … his dad and mine work together. I haven't seen him in a year… Wow." Chel's thoughts chattered. This was the same boy she'd known since they were little kids, only after a year of not seeing him, he really seemed to be a different person. What had he been up to for the last year? "This … is how summer should be …"
