There was nothing out of the ordinary about the small group of ducks. They were just animals. Energy swam away from the ducks and past a few fish. He took a moment to make a snack of one of them, then was on his way again. The large dice cut smoothly through the shallow water, wriggling his body in a snakelike fashion. Then, he saw it. There was a duck, not unlike the other ones, by itself. Energy floated in the water several feet away, his nostrils twitching in an effort to catch a scent. He had to reposition himself several times to finally get downwind enough to determine that the lone duck was indeed a dice. Delighted that he had located the dice, Energy growled to himself and sunk beneath the surface leaving only a shallow ripple where he had been. The duck lazily swam out in the open. He didn't show any caution and seemed quite content to be by himself. He just went about his business of being a duck and ran his beak through the surface of the water. A few moments passed. Energy was moving in slowly, concentrating on his target and making as startling of an entrance as he could think of. The much larger dice breached right next to the duck, letting out as loud of a roar as he could muster while short on breath. Water sprayed everywhere. "Quack?" The duck turned his head curiously to peer at Energy, but didn't act the least bit alarmed.

  1. Hmm, it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck… yet it’s not really a duck? Cliche subverted!
