Dash stared at his reflection on the curved surface of the biosphere. He had crept off to one of the rare secluded areas in the ship. There were several bushes along one side of the sphere with just enough room to sit and be out of sight of anyone passing by. He was musing about how close he had come to dying.
Stealth stood on the other side of the bush. She had easily figured out where Dash had gone and was thinking about what she should say. Finally, Stealth walked around the side of the bush and stood next to Dash.
Silence.
"Long day?" Stealth faced away from Dash.
"If it weren't for Chel, I probably would be dead." Dash stated bluntly. He didn't turn his gaze away from the sphere.
" . . . I'm . . . happy you're not." Stealth spoke softly. Her ears were backed against her skull with apprehension at making such a comment to Dash. Then she leaned her head against his shoulder and neither said anything more.
