Lexx lifted his head and stared blankly at the ceiling, one hand resting on the glass, taking comfort in the expected beneath his fingertips. Cold and hard. It was constant and expected, but the unexpected? That was warm and soft. It was comfortable to hold onto, if one could.
I think … Lexx smiled. I’m going to do what I want to do and build a home with my own hands and take things as they come. Maybe a completely unplanned life will be better … at least then I won’t have constant interruptions in my plans. Lexx left it at that. It was settled and he would deal with it … maybe with Chel. He was going to have to talk to her father again, … later.
Right now, he had more training to undertake and he needed to eat to keep his energy up. Lexx returned to the table with renewed enthusiasm for the goodies that Riley had provided.

I can’t completely agree with Lexx, in taking everything off-the-cuff. Some things, especially the important things, require planning, and when those things that tend to interrupt or work against them come, one needs to learn to adapt and overcome those obstacles.
Getting upset at the obstacles doesn’t tell me that the plans were that good to begin with… perhaps this is the real issue that Lexx is struggling with… what he’s been doing with this life until now.
