The sound hung on the air, eerie and heavy. The creature was saying something under its breath, without the massive tooth filled jaws even moving. Lexx couldn't hear it, but swung his fist up, concentrating, only to see the beast suddenly become three. Which one? Which one? The middle one! He completed his arc and let the ball of electricity go. It passed directly through the beast. Lexx swore fiercely, preparing for the next move. He'd missed. He didn't miss often.
