“I don’t understand why you hate Lexx so much.” It was like she was reading his mind. Maelinn knelt behind Zaile’s chair and leaned against him in a slight hug. “you have so much more than he will ever have and you shared it with me.” Zaile closed his eyes. He really did love his adopted daughter. He only wanted the best for her and didn’t have the heart to outright tell her to leave, even if she was saying things he didn’t want to hear. “Why can’t you share it with him? I’m not even a relation.” “It’s complicated.” Zaile did not want to admit his reasoning to her. It was as if it would sound foolish if he spoke the words to her, even though they made so much sense when he told himself why he was so angry with Lexx.

  1. If it only sounds good in your head, there’s a good chance it’s stupid.

  2. You see! This is what happens when you let yourself care about people! They start caring about you and then you can’t stew in your own anger!
