"It's your ship, Riley, how dangerous can it be here?" Maelinn snuggled up against Riley, reminding him that she was unaware of many of the things he knew. She was innocent of that knowledge and Riley wanted to keep it that way. She had dealt with enough when she was younger.
"I guess you're right. I just worry if something happens to Lexx. What do we do with Maenae?"
"Let's not worry about that right now." Maelinn gave Riley a little squeeze, pushing him a step closer to the beautiful view on the deck they were standing on. "Today is a happy day, right?"
"Yes, it is, Maelinn." Riley stepped to Maelinn's side and gave her a light kiss on the forehead. "It's this way to your rooms. We can discuss our future plans without interruption there. I was thinking about a traditional Litanae ceremony, very grand…" Riley walked slowly, explaining the ceremony in grandiose terms while Maelinn listened intently.
