It didn’t take long for them to reach the actual buildings and the first thing Chel noticed was that most of the people they were seeing … were Rishan.  They were hurrying about the sidewalks from one building to another, walking down visible stairs to enter the buildings.  It dawned on Chel that what she was seeing must not be all there was.  These people lived underground.  There were likely far more Rishan here than she could see. Chel marveled at the variations in skin tone, hair and markings as they hurried past her.  She felt a little embarrassed as many turned to look at her before continuing on.  Some whispered about her and still others completely stopped what they were doing to stare.  Chel waved at one such couple, a mother and a young girl.  They didn’t return the gesture, but continued to just look at her as though unaware that they were doing it at all.

  1. Well, this is a nice change. Everyone looks suprised to see Chel.

    1. Is it because Chel is an intergalactic celebrity or because she is human (i.e. not one of the locals)?

  2. The uniform of the lady in the background of panel 2 seems inspired by Star Trek Next Generation, though the colors are reversed.

    1. Which, incidentally, was also done for Deep Space Nine, quite officially. I think Voyager ran them that way, too.

  3. Just smile and act natural. 🙂

  4. It may also be that she is walking down the road with 4 dice.

  5. The way that Caillem is smiling while chel goes over there shows that it’s just what she wants chel to do.

  6. Hmm, we know that the rishan are collected and bred for their skin colorations. Maybe that’s what Trasik is doing here?
