Satisfied for the moment, but still worried, Lexx shifted his consciousness back to reality. Only a few seconds had passed, but it was long enough for Victor to still be staring and Zeta to have retreated a few feet away. I felt her fear. She’s gone! Lexx turned away from Vic, thinking quickly about how best to remove himself from his presence.
“I need to go. You can look around if you like.” Lexx pushed away all traces of alarm and nervousness.
“Lexx, if something happens to Chel – “ Vic began probingly.
“I’m going to pay for it!” Lexx glared over his shoulder. He did not need this human around. It was one thing to know that Chel was in danger and he was the cause of it. Another to have someone else TELLING him that it was his fault.

See, at this point I’d offer to take Victor along with him, especially if he brought his gun. “You want to challenge me? OK, first Victor here is going to shoot you a few times, then ask you a few questions about his daughter’s kidnapping.”
