"I am just as conflicted as you are, Stealth." Energy shook his thick mane of fur. "On that note, I'm going to go take a nap. And I think I'm going to change my name. I'm going to ask Chel to give me a name. If she names me, perhaps she'll want to keep me."
"Chel is mine..." Stealth bristled abruptly.
"I believe that is her choice, Stealth." Energy replied, seemingly unaware of how thin of a line he was treading. "She has a fondness for many of us. What do you see becoming of Drift and Swiftpaw?"

I see no problems for those two. They are so darn adorable (especially Drift), they’ll get adopted in no time at all.

it does strike me that if they all reverted to side 1 then they would be a lot more manageable, is there a way to control that?

Oh yeah. Totally. We saw them reset Dash to level six.
They can reset them all to lower levels, surely.

We’ve also heard of them being level locked, kind of like canceling a Pokemon evolution, or holding an Everstone in Pokemon.
