Chel finished her slice of pizza then stared at the table. She suddenly felt very tired. It had been a long day and she longed to talk to her parents about it. It just wasn't the right time. Not when she could enjoy her little 'secret' for a while longer. Maybe it was her imagination, but she could swear that her parents kept looking at her as though they were expecting her to say something. "They know." The thought echoed repeatedly through her head. "Can I be excused?" Chel yawned to put emphasis on the request. "I think I'll go to bed early." "Are you feeling okay, Honey?" Mel asked with what seemed like a little more concern than normal. "Great, Mom." Chel grinned. She was imagining it. She had to be. How could they know? "I've just had a busy day." "Okay, see you in the morning." Mel smiled reassuringly. "Sleep good." "Good night, Chel." Vic nodded, but looked distant.
