Lexx sighed after the door had closed behind Chel. 'That was good. I upset her,.. but what does she think she's doing?' He looked at the door, then went back to staring out the window into empty space. 'What are you doing here, Human? You are endangering yourself. You should go home where you are safe.'
He paused in his thoughts, aware that someone was standing beside him. It was Zeta. The sallomandyr quietly nudged Lexx's hand and sat down next to him. Neither said a word. 'Safe, I want you to be safe, but it all comes down to me. It's me,.. isn't it? I'm the one being selfish. I should make her leave. Just drop her off, give Stealth to her when I'm done like I wanted to do in the first place.'
'There are times Chel annoys me, but I don't really mind. She's nice to me,.. even though I don't deserve it.'
Lexx's vision misted over, blurring. 'then... why can't I just say it? The time is all wrong. All of this, is just all wrong. I've never been in a situation like this. I just don't know what to do about it.'
'Go home, stay.. how many times am I going to go over this? If she leaves, she may never come back or won't want ME to come anywhere near her. I don't want that. When this is over I don't even know what I'm thinking anymore, I must be crazy!'
