Lexx pushed his emotions down as he struggled to walk up the hill. It was unnaturally natural. “Yes, now why does he have a relay?” Lexx inquired calmly once he was at the top of the hill with Keith and Chel. “I missed that part.” He glanced from Keith to Chel, taking notice of a small furry animal with wings sitting on Chel’s shoulder. It was a pale brown color with very soft looking fur, tall rounded ears and bright red eyes. The animal as staring at Lexx in an unnerving way, like it had a soul and that soul wasn’t merely a reflection of Keith.
“Don’t be mad, Lexx.” Chel slid one hand around the animal, cuddling it up against her cheek. It kept looking at Lexx.
“I’m not, just …. Why?” Lexx turned away uncomfortably, not wanting to be looking into either of their eyes.
