“After what they did to you?” Chel rolled her eyes and grimaced at the thought. “I heard the whole story about how anites were a gift, meant for temporary use and were altered for permanent use.” Chel lifted her eyes, studying the pale golden brown sky thoughtfully. “They could be abused on Earth to murder people. I know my parents are part of this organization, Lexx, but that doesn’t mean everyone they work for has the same ideals.” She turned and stepped into Lexx’s arms, running her hands down his chest. He responded by giving her a fairly serious and concerned look. “You have to escape and take the dice with you if they try to use you.” Chel stated her thoughts urgently and without hesitation, which set Lexx immediately on guard.
