The lady that runs ADC is not one of them like Lexx and the others forced into this game to fight and either be killed or be enslaved in a form that words have been carefully construed to hide that fact.
Her and others like her stole him and his little sister and caused his friend in the academy to puke to death. She isn’t mutually destroying anything. She’s sacrificing others for her own profit and Lexx is the only hurdle preventing her continuing that cycle indefinitely.
Lexx is a victim of treachery and deceit. Why does Riane think he should be a hero or savior when she never made the effort to be one herself. No, just dump it on Lexx because there’s a possibility he might survive the gauntlet. And then, instead of letting him rest quietly and happily, she wants him to take on the treacherous regime that already nearly destroyed his life. I think Riane is quite selfish.
