'Riley,… my own kind are against me,… my OWN people!'  Lexx sniffed over the relay, 'I can't speak aloud because of the audio transmitter and I can't talk to Chel,…' 'You could if you told her about the relay.  You need-'  Riley began to seriously advise Lexx, taking the opportunity to make the suggestion. "Riley,…"  Lexx whispered, speaking across the relay and physically at the same time, "She'll be furious.  I can't deal with that.  I don't want her mad at me!  She might-" "Lexx.  Tell me."  Riley gripped Lexx's shoulder firmly, "How does any relationship work if you feel you're always walking on thin ice?" Lexx went silent.  He didn't really know how relationships worked, but he knew that Riley had a point.  It wasn't like him to care about what most others thought about him.  But around Chel, he just wanted to please her.  He wanted her to be happy, all the time.  That was what made him happy.  Lexx felt he could be content in life with just making Chel happy.  But,… a doubt creeped into his thoughts. He was a warrior.  That was what he had been trained to do, that was who he was.  This person he became around Chel, while it was him, was not always a true reflection of himself.  Lexx did it because he was afraid she would leave if he upset her.  He didn't want to risk that at all, but the truth in what Riley was saying was eye opening. If he couldn't do or say things that would make Chel mad now, he could never slip.  There was no way he could do that.  Lexx knew there were times that he could not restrain his words or anger.  He would make mistakes, then what?

  1. As they say: When living a lie, the first person you must convince is yourself…but are you really willing to go through that? Quite honestly, and I bet all them old grandmothers out there will agree: ‘If the girl/guy can’t love you for who you are, you’re better off without her/him, in the first place.’

  2. This page, man…this page… <3

  3. That first sentence is more true than you know, Lexx.
