  1. Aaaaand Lexx once more thinks only of himself. You can do so much better, Chel!

    1. While I agree that Lexx is being selfish (again), keep in mind that not much time has passed in-comic. Lexx has gotten better since we first saw him, but he’s still got issues from the years of abuse and neglect he endured under the ADC. That’s not something that gets fixed overnight.

I’m still hoping he’ll come around and do the right thing on his own – but worst case scenario, he’s got friends who will help him and keep him on the right path.

      1. I know not much time has passed and that Lexx has been horribly abused, but I find it impossible to feel any pity for him. He may have had it pretty rough, but that is never an excuse to turn around and abuse others in turn. He is horrible to his dice, even though he knows that his situation is in no way their fault – they are even more slaves to the game than he is. He emotionally manipulates Chel, whether intentionally or not, and that is nothing but a toxic relationship. He says he can’t live without her, but not in a loving, caring, or romantic way. Instead he ‘can’t live without her’ in that if she leaves him he will harm himself and make her feel as though all his misery is her fault. That is emotional abuse. No one should be forced to stay with someone out of guilt or fear.

I know all about being emotionally abused. I have known countless people who were also horribly abused. But I and they didn’t use it as an excuse to make everyone around them miserable. Instead we gained compassion, and have worked toward making sure no one else would go through the pain we did.

Lexx is not only selfish and self-harming, he is harming everyone else he comes in contact with. That is never okay, and I do not feel sorry for him in the least. I have known too many toxic people just like him. Yes, he needs help, but first he needs to accept help and genuinely try to be better, which I haven’t seen a hint of so far.

        1. !?!

Seriously, I’m not seeing in Lexx all the abuse you attribute to him! Yes, he’s been horrible to his dice, but we’ve also seen him start treating them better over the hundreds of pages we’ve been watching him (e.g., buying Dash a collar Lexx could barely afford to cure his code glitch instead of simply having him terminated.)
I haven’t seen the “can’t live without Chel-if she leaves he’ll harm himself-and his misery is her fault” behavior in Lexx at all. I do see that he was harming himself before he met Chel, and that when he met her he found a reason to stop. In that case, it’s only logical that if his reason for stopping left, he might return to it again, but I haven’t seen him threatening Chel with such. Nor have I seen him give everyone who comes in contact with him “nothing but harm”. Maenae has received a lot of good from him, and no harm. Chel has received more harm from being in contact with Lexx, but most of that was the ADC (or his bad code), and very little Lexx! Lexx has tried hard to protect Chel, and I’ve notice him try to show her love and do her good, even though his attempts may be few and clumsy.

    2. Let’s see what he does rather than just what he thinks on the spur of the moment. I sometimes think some less than charitable things before actually doing something else.
