Day 17, Morning
Chel slept peacefully for the rest of the night, to the soft melody of the bloodstone. She woke just as the sun was lightening the sky. Just like any other morning, Chel pulled the covers over her head for a few more minutes of sleep. It was summer, she could sleep as long as she wanted to.
It was seven in the morning when she finally slid out of bed, took a shower and got dressed. Chel checked on her brother and sister. Both were asleep. She yawned and left the door to her bedroom open. Chances were that Lexx would show up there when he arrived and Chel did not feel like spending the morning there.
Instead, she went to the living room and turned on the tv to watch the news. Hours passed. Chel made a couple of pieces of toast to nibble on. She was too eager to see Lexx to eat.
Andrea and Kalvin were up around nine. Chel could hear Andrea showering and Kalvin joined her on the couch to watch tv. 'Lexx said he would be here this morning,.. where is he?' Chel couldn't help but wonder as she watched the clock. It was 9:45. 'Ugh,… I spend entirely too much time worrying about HIM. HE can handle himself just fine.'
Chel leaned forward in thought, playing with the tv remote and reminding herself that she did have a way to go to Lexx. She did not have to wait on him,… but then how would that look if she did that? 'He's come this far. There's no reason to think anything bad has happened. I can't keep thinking the worst. He's okay.'
She could wait longer. Give him time to show up.
