He was afraid.  It was pathetic and annoying.  What did he truly have to be afraid of?  If she couldn't handle this, she'd never be able to handle some of the things that he had gone through, that at some point,.. he would have to tell her about.  He had to return to himself and realize that this was just the way things needed to go.  Lexx ground his teeth in frustration. 'How did I get myself into this situation?'  Lexx thought hard on it.  He had a lot more self examination to do. He didn't like feeling weak.  He was losing his edge by being around Chel.  He just wanted to please her and wanted her to see him as non threatening.  Lexx could remember the look that she had given him when he fought Trasik's dice.  He recalled the pain. On the other hand, Lexx didn't want to return to being his usual cold, aloof self,… which was only reserved for strangers.  He wasn't sure who he really was.  He had shifted so much that even around those who would be his friends, he was often withdrawn and didn't want them too close, especially not physically.  With Chel, it was different.  He wanted to be close to her. Perhaps in his desire to be close he had gone completely in the other direction.  He still was not being himself and that,… was not going to work.  Lexx knew he couldn't keep this up forever, but at the same time, he still wasn't sure who he was to show her himself. Chel carefully held Stealth's dice.  "I hope she's okay." "She'll be fine.  She reverted,"  Lexx turned around and sat down on the floor, pulling his pillow into his lap. The black dice rolled out of Chel's hands and onto the floor.  It bounced and glittered momentarily, then Stealth materialized on the floor,… in her side one form.  She immediately stood up, her ears rising along with every hair on her little kitten body.  Stealth blinked, green eyes staring out in momentary shock. Then, she sat back on her haunches, tilted up her head and yowled. "Aaaaaah!!  It's not fair!!!"  Stealth squalled, while patting her forepaws up and down on the floor in a temper tantrum. "Stealth, stop that,"  Lexx stated pitilessly.  "It was your own fault." "I'm so glad you're okay, Stealth!"  said Chel as she dropped to her knees by Lexx and Stealth. Stealth was too preoccupied with being upset to reply.  She backed her ears and bared her fangs, looking around for a certain small annoyance, "Where's that squirrel?!"
