"Chel?"  Riley rose to his feet.  "It's your choice.  It always was.  I'll go if you want.  I'll tell Lexx to forget about you.  You'll never see him again.  I promise."  It was too much for a young human to handle all at once.  Chel needed time to think.  And Riley was not affording her that time. "He has no desire to hurt you in any way.  And I have no desire to see you hurt him." "That's not right."  Chel shook her head.  She was no longer burning with anger.  A sort of calm had settled on her shoulders.  The thoughts in her head suddenly dissipated. "You can't expect me to just decide something like that.  There hasn't been enough -time-." "Yes.  Never enough time, but decisions like this often do not have the luxury of time," stated Riley in a flippant manner.  "If you wait too long, the decisions are sometimes made for you.  You need to decide one way or another, while you still can."
