Lexx watched the display of light in the trees several hundred yards away.  The pair of dice were really lighting up the sparse growth of  trees.  He sighed, shifting his gaze back to the grass he was sitting on.  He was mildly pleased that Energy had located the dice so quickly, but not interested in the battle.  The only thoughts going through his head were about the loss of Chel. 'She's not coming back,.. she's not coming back,…'  He thought over and over again, digging himself deeper into his black hole. Epsy emerged from the nearby trees and trotted up to Lexx.  She came up behind him, her neck arched in curiosity.  Lexx didn't say anything.  Epsy stood behind him, lowering her head to nibble at the loose cloth he had thrown over his shoulders and back for a little warmth against a cool night chill. "I sorry I made you angry,"  Epsy murmured apologetically.  Her tail swayed lowly behind her, echoing her guilt.  "Not mean to.  I not feeling good.  I feel better now.  I do!  Yes, yes, yes!"  She nervously mouthed the cloth, nuzzling the back of Lexx's neck in a way that made him shiver. "It's not you, Epsy,"  Lexx grumbled, reaching back to push her head away. "Then why you be like how you are?"  Epsy persisted, resting her chin on Lexx's shoulder.  He tried to push her away again.  She didn't seem to understand that his skin hurt. "You wouldn't understand,"  shrugged Lexx, trying to turn so he was facing Epsy so he could keep her away from his back before she tried to push him down and play or something worse.

  1. Err, I may be mistaken, but wasn’t it Zeta, who had the problems with Grammar? I always thought, that Epsy’s speech was fairly fluent.

    1. She has somewhat better grammar than Zeta, but still not perfect…it’s more fluid, but she’s always had some inconsistencies every once in a while…possibly exacerbated by her feeling bad, too.
