"Eurgh,.. just enough!!" Energy's unstable form paled and boiled, then suddenly seemed to roll off of a new, larger form in a bubbling mass of energy that then dissipated into the air like smoke.
What emerged was a much larger creature with a definite form. The transitions of dog to this form had been somewhat unstable and uncomfortable for Energy. The moment that he was free of the clinging vapors, he spun in a circle, stretching his legs and whipping his tail about in excitement. A lingering aura of star studded black energy rippled from his back down to his tail.
Now, he looked more like his base form. Lexx smiled slightly, pleased to see Energy attaining his full level. He needed to get all of his basic set to their full levels if they were going to be any use against his final set.
"Aaaaah…" Energy rose up in front of Lexx, his form towering over him with a serpentine grace. The blue-grey fur now coating most of his body rose in excitement and he flexed his fingers. "That is so much better! I am solid again! And I'm not short and fat anymore. You can't imagine how it feels to be so,… so,.. liberated."
That stung Lexx. He could imagine. It was strange. Energy had been so depressed about his form that he reminded Lexx of himself. He had never complained. That was just something that Energy did not do, but his lack of any conversation whatsoever was a good tip-off of how he was feeling.
Energy was special. He was one of several dice that Lexx had selected whose ancestors originated on Earth. There were several species. Lexx had chosen a pair from each of the species. They had come from his home world and while he had always wanted to visit it, was never sure if he would be able to. The choosing of these particular dice was simply to have something that was also misplaced from Earth.
"One day, Energy,.. one day," Lexx's spirit lifted momentarily at the thought. He was going to be free. He was another step closer.

Of all the designs you’ve given the dice, a dragon was not one of them I expected. =)

I think that the base for Energy was a Komodo dragon.
