Trasik couldn’t hide the bounce her step as she triumphantly walked to where Lexx lay.  Her two dice backed off, their jobs done, but still eager to jump in if given the order.

Dark spots and bright lights flashed before Lexx’s bleary eyes as they tried to adjust.  He was fully aware of what was going on.  Tired…can’t breathe…tired…I…lost…and I’m not dead.  The thoughts formed in Lexx’s mind as the true horror of his situation made itself clear.  The flashing lights in his eyes were replaced by Trasik’s looming visage as she kneeled next to him and reached out with her left hand to push his head to one side.  Lexx didn’t respond with anything more than a bloody cough in protest.
