“I’ll tell you all about it when we get out of here, Chel.” Riley backed up into the opening, holding one hand out to Chel. She looked at his hand and took one step forward, then two back, toward the glass viewing wall.
“I can’t go!” Chel glanced from the glass to Riley.
“What do you mean, you can’t go?” Riley narrowed his eyes in annoyance. “We came here for you.”
“The kids!!” Chel gestured wildly at the glass and the three children on the other side. Riley looked out the glass and scowled. They did not have time for this.

I’ve got this horrible feeling this is what Trasik was after all along. Galactic Law being the twisted mess that it is, those kids are legally her property. If Lexx’s native guide is involved in ‘stealing’ them, what are the consequences?
Of course, as the saying goes, “It’s only illegal if you get caught”…

I can imagine Riley turning to to Chel and saying –
“I had a perfect escape plan. And I would have gotten away with it if not for you meddling with these kids!”
Riley does have a substantial bank account of his own. Couldn’t he just offer to buy them from his sister?

In her current state she’d probably kick him between the legs before letting her one chance at her last chance to fight Lexx be bought away. 🙁

Just finished re-rereading AD, and wish to again compliment you on the thought, time, and growth that you’ve let blossom in your story.
I like that you have image AND text (and I patiently wait with reading until I see the wonderful “text updated starting HERE” link).
I like this so much, I am dreading day 30, boo-hoo!
(I also did not, in the past week and a half of re-rereading, come across any annoying or pop-up ads. I have WinIE, but it’s never mentioned “blah-blah pop-up automatically blocked”. Perhaps it does not target Swiss IP addresses? No idea. I sometimes ain’t all that bright when it comes to computin’.)
